He spoke of how she owed him nothing and Penryn could only shake her head, her creamy forelock swaying with the movement. She owed him her thanks, her gratitude for taking her to Paraiso. She owed him for keeping her company along the way. She owed him, whether he accepted her reasons or not. But the blotched mare remained silent, her maw quirking in a smile as she listened to his chuckling. This one sounded different, more open perhaps. Never the less, it brought a light hearted smile to her face.

The wind rushed by, unlike the ones that merely cooled her off. This one grabbed her attention, just as it whipped her and the stallion’s hair. It was chilly, carrying a smell Ryn could only describe as a stallion. She shuffled as her company perked to attention, her own nostrils quivering as she looked about. The wind had picked up a a few leaves that had barely fallen, swirling them in the air and blowing them away. Penryn pawed the ground, her feathers catching a twig or two. The nervousness she'd forgotten about returned tenfold, though she didn't pin her ears back as she had before. The stallion she'd come to think of as a friend turned his gaze on her, his eyes growing dark with emotion, though his irises remained that faint blue. Only when she realized they'd grown just a smidge brighter did the draft cross realize it had grown a tad darker. She didn't have much time to really dwell on it though, Adalric’s quiet voice flitting through her acoustics. They were about to have company… the call she heard only fueled the fact.

He appeared not long after, the golden stallion who’d invited her emerging from the trees. He came forth with no hostility the mare could see. His eyes were blue, icey even, though they are warm and welcoming. His pelt shined with the fading sun, bright and lovely. She felt like she was in the presence of royalty, which she found she basically was as he introduced himself. The stallion dipped his head in greeting and Penryn nodded her head back, though she didn't speak. She's too nervous, suddenly too shy. Why was she shy now? Ryn had never been shy before, not when she said hello to complete strangers, not when she'd run up all excited. Not when she'd met Adalric. The liver chestnut stallion was still there, she remembered. She wasn't alone now. She had her friend.

Penryn breathed out as her nerves seemed to die almost instantly, though there was still a layer beneath her composure. Valerio, that was the golden stallion’s name, his voice smooth and strong. If Penryn was anyone but Penryn, she might've blushed or gaped in awe, but she was only four and rather well… herself. So when he spoke, asking her if her journey had trouble free, the painted mare flashed a grin, her eyes lighting up. “It's good to see you again too, sir,” the youth tried to mimick his politeness, but she'd came up rather short, sounding like a little filly addressing an elder. She wasn't as… refined as he seemed to be, that was for sure. “The trip was actually quite enjoyable. I'm Penryn.” Chocolate eyes flicked to the stallion beside her before looking back, her grin still in place. She didn't not notice how her company had stepped closer to her, though she hadn't the slightest idea as to why. Was he picking up something she wasn't?

Valerio had turned his attention to her company, and the mare watched the exchange in silence. Adalric wasn't tense, nor was Valerio, but Penryn still watched vigilantly, glancing between the two. The Guardian offered the stallion sanctuary, so long as he didn't cause trouble or something of the like. Ryn wanted to giggle because she truly couldn't see the stallion making a mess of things. The liver chestnut stallion was quiet and rather careful it seemed, not a trouble maker. The thought of seeing him frequently had a bubble of joy building, though his next words squashed it, if only slightly. Adalric planned to leave, but also spoke of a possible short time of staying there. The smile she'd unknowingly dropped curled up again at the news, staying there until they two stallions had fallen quick, ending with the older of the two saying his name. They fell quiet for but a few moments, Ryn not liking the awkward silence.

The mare didn't step forward as one might've thought her to, but rather stayed by the stallion’s side, looking at the light of the two with curiosity brimming in her hues. She shuffled only a little, her cream tail swaying by her hocks. Red chestnut ears were perked to attention. “This is your home, you know it best, right?” The blotched mare glanced the area quickly before looking back to the one who'd invited her. “What is it like here? Those that live here, do they enjoy it?” Penryn cared not for rules, not yet. She only desired to know them should she choose to stay. And with how welcoming the stallion had been, how he'd been so kind to the stallion beside her, Valerio had already earned brownie points.

Penryn glanced once more to Adalric, her gaze excited, cautious, and nervous all wrapped into one. The mare wanted a home, it was clear, but she didn't want one if she’d end up tied now, forced into settling when she most definitely didn't want to. Her chocolate hues landed back on the Guardian of Paraiso, curious as to just how it this would all play out.
