Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Inanna

Snowy fur continued to bristle warningly at Sekmet’s continued growls. A wolf on entering a stranger’s land was never going to get help from that stranger. Inanna’s eyes flashed with lightning, her fangs continued to bare. She would not bite so long as Sekmet continued to respect the power that resided here.

Her eyes narrowed at the red lined girl before her. Each second she persisted was another Inanna felt the desire to drive her away. Each moment that passed she became solidified her her desire to be a member of the pack. A tinge of pride flickered in her still young heart. Still, she glared at the intruder. Protecting. She growled with her continually rolling tones. I protect my pack. You smell the sea. Dead fish. Some decayed and some preserved by salt. Also spruce sap. I came from the forests. The strong scents of the ocean were overpowering to most senses that were not used to the soft sands under their paws. Salt and decay would assail any senses not accustomed to the sights and sounds of the sea. It was odd indeed, as Sekmet had put it.

Sekmet nipped at her again, and Inanna snarled, face blazing again. She would respect her in this place if she had any desire to get anything from her. Even though the mountain could not bow to a mighty storm, lightning would flash to break its peaks, and wind could tear scars into its face. Neither party would be pleased by an escalated outcome. An offering of peace to the wrath of the world would go a long way to ensuring a gentle rain. Gaze flicked to the cold crashing waves of the ocean and narrowed. Sure. If you want to fight the riptide. Wolves were not meant to swim in the swells that went over their heads. Even the adults of Glorall remained in the shallows, putting their paws only in the tidepools as opposed to venturing out into the depths themselves. When the waters were calm they would go deeper, investigating fish and seaweed that settled on the floor. Otherwise, the scent of salt water, which would slowly kill a drinker, was better avoided. It was a place to be and something to watch. It nature as varying and volatile as the wolves themselves. As Inanna was as well.
