He seemed, for a moment, to be angry. Alistair was good at reading these things, he needed to be, as there was nothing else he could infer emotion from. He wondered what it was he said that had made Eden angry, but he had little time to dwell on it before his next words brought a change over the older male. Alistair tilted his head slightly. Had the alpha not understood the gravity of his words, had he misunderstood? This casual talk of sons and things as if the accusation had not been made, albeit in an indirect way. Perhaps the event had slipped his memory in lieu of something else. "I... see. I will relay the message to her." He gave a smile of his own, but it read more like a caricature of one, as if he was imitating something that he didn't quite understand.
Nevertheless, Alistair knew that he would get no further information out of this meeting. For all intents and purposes, the alliance had been sealed, his mission completed and yet there was still more to be done. By the second, he was growing more certain that Amoxtli's assailant resided here in Glorall. Whether or not Eden knew of them was a different story, but the intensity of his gaze spoke volumes about a hidden agenda that lay behind them. Alistair would not be surprised if the alpha knew and, perhaps, had covered it up. He did not care for these games, he had always been a man of precedent and respect; at times like these, however, it was hard to remember his place.
He had not missed Eden's distraction, and his comment did not fall, for lack of a better phrase, on deaf ears. '...is there anything else?' His eyes flickered to meet the other male's gaze and its meaning was clear, he had overstayed his welcome. "I do not think so. It was a pleasure speaking with you, Eden... please, do let me know if anything else comes to mind." Alistair turned to leave after a bow of his head. "I will be seeing you again, I am sure." It was a veiled threat as a parting phrase, the male had always been keen on respect but he was ever the more concerned with protecting the pack he had called home for years now.
