Inwardly, Despoina was beginning to try my patience. She had come here seeking my help, and yet any question or suggestion I posed seemed to be met with a derisive reaction. In these moments I called upon my own history, the frustrations I had felt as a young girl whose parents had been murdered and whose home had been stripped away. And the more recent experience of a long-standing leader unceremoniously cast from my pack, followed by no one in my departure but my immediate family. Even with years of experience in diplomacy and tactful exchanges, I had been prone to biting words in the throes of my aggravations. Losing one's home, one's family, was an experience I would wish on no one. And so, my expression remained passive and open to Despoina even as she practically growled her response at me.

The expectation here was clear - she wanted some kind of tangible help from me. To put my own wolves on the line to help uncover the truths of what had transpired in Iromar. I had wolves capable of such things - Viora was a skilled sleuth, and one who was passionate about righting wrongs. There was also Arthfael, though he was more likely to take the bold faced approach to such tasks as opposed to conning the information out of others. Much like Despoina, I thought to myself, restraining the grin that threatened to expose my inner thoughts. And yet, could I in good conscience put my wolves at risk for Despoina's cause?

"I have my own reasons for wishing to learn more about what is going on behind Iromar's borders. Whatever information my wolves are able to gather about Aranck, and his rise to power, I will make known to you as well," I said, nodding once. Whether such an offer would be enough to satisfy Despoina remained to be seen. But I would not give her one of my wolves to use as she wished - they were my pack, and I would not ask such a thing of them. Blinking, I shifted my weight slightly before adding, "You and yours are also welcome to shelter here, if you require a safe place to rest your head." Perhaps some leaders would ask for something in return for the things that I offered her. But I knew, should Despoina and her ilk succeed, that it would create a solid foundation upon which to rebuild ties with Iromar. And in my heart, I truly hoped that she would find success in this, and restore some semblance of peace in Moladion.
