In the shadows of two of the tallest peaks in the mountain range, rests the land known as the Forbidden Dale. The forested path that winds down out of the mountains is steep and treacherous to those who do not know it's dangers. The mountains meld into rolling foothills - filled with broad gentle slopes, long narrow ridges, and miniature valleys. Vegetation of all sorts is abundant and the runoff of all the surrounding hills funnels into a long, narrow lake in one of the largest valleys. Beyond the undulating and green foothills resides a dark and deep forest; the trees are so dense that it is dim even in the light of day.

Local News
July 10th - Melia and Rhaego are now co-owning the Dale after Melia has successfully defended their home in the Summit.
April 5th - Updated herd list. If you see something wrong or changes to be made, please let me know.
September 8th - The Dale has become a part of Beyond the Mountains. The geographical location has not changed in relation to Mist Meadows, but Rhaego will begin focusing his attentions on these new lands being discovered and less on Mist Meadows. The herd list has been cleared, but I will add back any herd members who rejoin here on Beyond.
July 9th - Updated the board. Rhaego has an open post in the lake for this breeding season for anyone interested. Also welcome Bastille whom will be serving the Dale in return for a home for himself, Larka, and their daughter Valerian. Rhaego is actively working to return Aileen back to the Dale.
December 7th - After unintentionally forfeiting his land about a year ago, Rhaego has gotten him land back! He will be working on re-establishing himself and the herd that he had. There's a little adjusting to do but Rhaego is back and more determined than ever!
July 23rd - ACTIVITY CHECK! Just need to confirm who is in the herd and who is not, as well as the names of any foals born recently. Please respond before August 7th with the names of your characters who live here. Thank ya much!
April 12th - With the warmer months and the growing season, Rhaego is focused on growing the herd and his bloodline. Foals are on the way - but they are not all Rhaego's.... wait, how'd that happen?
January 24th - Rhaego has won the battle by default!
January 13th - The Dale has been challenged for by a mare named, Apache. Rhaego has of course accepted and the battle is taking place now.
November 16th - Rhaego has proclaimed his claim over the territory formerly owned by Reaper. The territory will become known as the Forbidden Dale.

A lonely girl is always in a dream

What was ‘love’? Passion and desire from primal instincts? Or was it something that was delicate and fleeting, warm, and caring? In what ways did this ‘love’ relate to ‘happiness’? On that note, what was ‘happiness’? Do either of these concepts actually have a defined form or meaning, or was it simply as meldable as an individual? ‘Happiness’ existed, Aileen was sure of this, but an idea of having a so-called ‘eternal happiness’ was outlandish. Being satisfied until the end of one’s days was simply a delusion; things aren’t always what they seem, people change, all of this was inescapable.

The dryad was falling deeper into her despair, anger, and frustrations, but the thing was, she didn’t care anymore. There would be no rescue, no savior, no grandiose delusions of being more than she was, nothing except for the deep and long fall before crashing and shattering when she finally reached the bottom. A quiet demise that no one would notice, in death as in life. She had finally accepted that this was her fate, there was nothing more that could be done.

That bastard Rhaego was nowhere to be seen, which was good for the both of them. Ever since that femme came, Rhaego and Aileen hadn’t been on speaking terms since her outburst with him, learning just how easily you could be replaced after everything you’d done for one person and barely an ounce of gratitude. Aileen had taken so much pain, she had always sprung back from it fairly quickly, but this was unfair! After all she’d done, everything she’d gone through for him, this was the treatment she received!? ‘Yeah, I know you’ve done everything you can to support me, almost dying on multiple occasions for sake of my power, but I didn’t care about any of it enough to return the favor and neither do I have the integrity or decency to say a word of praise or understand the relationship we have, so, you’re being replaced because a tree mare like you doesn’t have feelings, so you’ll be okay with me trampling on everything we’ve ever done together, right?’

That was the thing that everyone noticed, her tail, and sometimes her legs. The things that were reminders that she was not like everyone else; she had not been “born” in a traditional sense, she hadn’t understood many things about equines when she first emerged, and she was still a tree spirit, who would never be equal to other equines, no matter what she thought, all of it had been trampled upon. Even though she were a living being as all the others, she felt alienated from them. Maybe it was for the best, being away from other equines. They hurt her, disrespected her, and would kill her if they got the chance.

Aileen had spent the day watching over her forests, as she always did. Night had fallen a time ago, and the forest fae was returning to her favored autumnal resting place, of course, the mare was in a bit of a daze from exhaustion, her roots were threatening to show if she didn’t get to her location soon enough. Aileen despised the cold, it made her feel weak, exhausted, and defenseless, but that was one of the things that came with being a forest sprite. Another reason to enjoy being her, aside from crippling betrayal, apparent desirability previously because of her closeness to Rhaego, a knowledge that she would never be her own entity, just “One of Rhaego’s mares”, and inability to escape because she felt the need to keep guarding her homeland.
