Xerxes looked towards Fenyang with a look of utter disdain. The boy was messy, created imperfect by whatever gods resided above them, and it was clear that jealously ran rampant in his head. Yes, he was jealous of the cream boy's perfect fur, striking coloration, and straight teeth. Perfection radiated from Xerxes, it came from the very core of his innermost being. His siblings, however, seemed to misunderstand it. Even Tikal, with her heart-melting smile, did not understand. Perhaps they were stupider than him because they were not made so well. He did not hate them for it... it was more pity that he felt. His mother however seemed to be the closest to understand what he felt, and he took her advice graciously. "Thank you, Mother. It is good to know that someone in this family appreciates natural beauty." He snorted.
"Of course it'll be fine Tikal, it will just take more work. And I am a pretty boy." The boy sighed, resigning himself to being quiet until this Halcyon guy arrived. It was not like he hated this Halcyon. But he, in a roundabout way, had caused this whole walking across Diveen business that Xerxes was certainly not interested in. He was sure that Halcyon was wonderful, amazing even, like his Father had said. But was he REALLY that amazing and wonderful that they had to leave their den and move somewhere else? His eyes flickered to catch the approach of the male who he assumed to be the alpha.
He weaved himself underneath his father's paws, standing below him and staring at Halcyon with narrowed eyes. He certainly didn't look special, in fact he was rather small and unassuming. Apparently he was an accomplished warrior or something though. Elite something-or-other, Xerxes couldn't remember and in truth he didn't really care. Names and titles meant little to him at such a young age. As the older male dropped to his stomach to examine him and his siblings, the boy peered curiously at him from behind the safety of his father's legs. He did not like being... observed and... sniffed in such a way. It felt invasive.
"My name is Xerxes." He quipped, leaning up against Viserys' leg as if he wanted to blend into the fur and disappear from sight. "I saw a bison, I think. Or maybe it was just a big rock. I think it was a bison, though."
