aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Sebring kept in mind all the time she had spent with Kalgalath; all of their memories stored away in the depths of her mind like small film rolls playing back the moments they had. All of which had been developed here within Aurora, but like all good things it had to come to an end. This was not a true end though, it was new beginning more than anything. For the pack, along with them even as they left, stepped down, and pushed Aindreas into power. Everyone was going to have to change, develop, mature and fill in some job or duty they hadn’t had before. They boys would have to learn to live without her and their father. It was a drastic change for them at such a young age, but she had no doubt that they would take care of each other. Even as polar opposites they somehow managed to balance each other out in the end, and for this Sebring was thankful. It was a hard lesson to learn, but for it to come so naturally to them was a blessing that they would not realize for some years. They were still in the early years of their adolescence and were learning new things of themselves and others every day. Even as adults, she and Kalgalath had to learn to deal with new situations that arose.

Though this change more affected her mate, she stood at his side ready for anything.

I… I worry that some of the newer pack members will not understand, and that when Aindreas takes over they will leave. They came here because of our reputation and because they wanted safety. Aindreas is my son, yes, but he is unproven as a leader. He has been known in a few packs a warrior, but not a leader. Never a leader. As for the older members, the ones who have become family, I know that they know me and trust me. They will be hurt but will not resent my decision. Of course… I will give them the option to come with us. I don’t think many will, and I am happy either way, but I want them to know that they have the option. I don’t want them to feel obligated to stay or leave – they have the choice. But for the most part, I think that they will want to stay. Especially since we are leaving Vladimir and Castiel. Sebring nodded her head to his words, as they strolled along the borders. Every concern of his was hers’ and they were in this together. She knew that Kal had known these wolves much longer than she, but the faith she had seen from them in Kal she had no doubt that they would remain faithful. Even the newcomers could take the sign from the others that what Kalgalath was doing was for his family, but that he was still taking care of them even after he left. And most of all there was the boys. It took a village to raise a child, and there were two of them.

They had not truly caused trouble yet, but they had only just become teens and so it was likely to start soon. Sebring had faith that the boys would take care of each other though, and there was always Seraphina to keep them in check. There was soft warmth that spread across her skin where Kal leaned into her and she smiled at him, waiting patiently for his news.

Before I told you, I just wanted to make sure that you truly were okay with it all. I went to Spring Grounds… and I talked to Pierce. He has released Aindreas and Aindreas came back with me. He has not entered Aurora yet, or perhaps he has. But he knows the deal and we have talked about all of the specifics. It will all be okay, and everything will be as we have planned. We can.. we can leave now. Of course, we will need to tell the pack. But it is all finalized. Whatever day we choose will work out. Let us wait a few days more and enjoy the time that we can with our boys, though… we should tell them first. a small smile reached her lips, everything was in place now. All that was left was for them to release the news and take their leave. She hoped the boys would handle the news well, even if it was to come from them first. And that was still an ‘if’. With Aindreas back and knowledgeable about the situation he was likely to run into the boys and he could make mention of it. Whatever happened she just hoped the boys would take it with grace. But they were boys after all, and teens too. The mother of two could only hope for the best with this news.

Though I do not know how the boys will truly react, I hope they can take it in stride and know that we will still be alive somewhere. With that being said, I’m sure once we’ve gone and they’ve settle down, they’ll fall back into routine adventuring and it’ll be nothing but a whisper of a memory. They’ve got each other and Seraphina. Sebring wandered through these words and thoughts, reassuring Kal and herself. She was going to miss her children dearly, for they had been her first and nothing had made her happier, save Kalgalath. It’ll all work out in, my love. Surely it will.
