Time was a concept Daria did not fully understand. Well, to be fair, there were many social concepts and cues that Daria did not understand or recognize, but time was one of the most significant. The blue eyed girl understood that the sun and moon rose and fell, and that was how time passed - but beyond that, a day could just as well be a month. Still, when the sing song called out across the land, Daria’s attention was caught. There was no shortage of things that could capture the girl’s attention, but there was most certainly something different about the prospect of a party, a ball.

She rose with a jolting type of grace from her position on the sand, making her way with little urgency towards the sound of the call. Daria had not seen either Other in quite a while, her littermate but a shadow of a memory in her mind. Now, Other, who she had vowed to share all with, was gone too - painted softly green in her mind despite her memory of vivid orange eyes. She had not caught his smell in a long while, and it caused blue to smear across his image when she thought of him. When she did find him again, she would bring him a Thing and all would be well, of this she had a deep certainty of.

She crossed into Outside with no hesitance - Home would still be here when she returned, this she knew. With age had come a better understanding of the world around her - the call had come from Mountains, and so she would go there. She began the trek, veering off course frequently despite her best intentions. She did not know what a party was, but perhaps the woman who called would explain that to her. Maybe, Daria pondered, she would be able to make new Friends. As she arrived, childlike attention was drawn immediately to the duo towards the center of the clearing - a tricolored female and a masked brujo. Daria lowered to her haunches abruptly, red lined eyes watching their interaction closely.
