The feeling of her soul bond moving closer was enough to spark more feeling in her numb body. As he approached she knew she was going to be okay. The feelings washed over her in waves. It slowly sank in that her father was dead. In the moment Halcyon touched her she all but sank into his shoulder, finally letting the tears fall freely. Golden face buried into his ruff, her body shaking with her grief. My father is gone, Halcyon. I feel as though something is wrong. Her body shivered in a completely new kind of feeling.
At last she pulled herself from beside him, suddenly feeling as though her place there was as inappropriate as it was natural. She could smell there was another on him and she would not dare intrude. Her face turned away, embarrassed that she had come and fallen into someone who was otherwise a stranger tied together only by fate. I am sorry. She said sheepishly. The voice she spoke with was broken as she tried to control it. Tones cracked and hushed as if she had started to lose the will to speak true. Taking a step back she looked through her blurry gaze as the land around them. It was the packland Samhain had resided in and had never really invited her to come to. Her head hung and she battled with herself. With his voice beyond her hearing she could not know if he would have wanted her to come here now, nor why she should have stayed away before. With her Imprint here as Alpha though, she could not believe this was not a place for her to stay. Can I stay here, Halcyon? She asked softly. She would find a den to stay in. Her heart longed to be alone though she dreaded the solitude.
