Impressive lineup forming for Team Florida

There is an impressive team forming that is heading to Connecticut on June 1st. Some of our top regular tournament players have expressed strong interest in coming and that includes Scott King, Belota and Anthony.

Unfortunately, the roster may be missing one top player - Rocco. The homegrown Puryear Park star will be likely playing again this season in Ft. Piece - which is in June this year.

Making up for that loss is Brodie, who will be returning to Connecticut, where in the early 90s was a national amateur champion while playing at Milford Amateur Jai-alai.

The tournament roster may be further enhanced with the possible addition of former pros Daniel and Randy. Now regulars on the Puryear Park roster, they have expressed strong interest in playing this year in our tournament. Randy won the first pro jai-alai game ever played in the state of Connecticut - in Hartford - just minutes away from Matt's court. Daniel, a two-time triple crown winner was a star backcourter in Tampa and Miami.

The NJAA has not received any feedback yet from Castanos, Thomas or Julio who have played in the tournament in the past. There is no limit on the players who can attend nor is there any real deadline to reserve a spot up until just a couple days before the event. But airfares and hotel rooms tend to double or even triple in price the longer you wait to commit.
