At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

In her rather short life, things had rarely diverged from the nice, neat lines that Sera had drawn. Things had, thus far, gone as she’d hoped or expected. So now that the lines had snapped, exploded, and tangled her up in a mess, the firebird was left floundering. The two vargs she would normally ask about this sort of thing weren’t options. Vladimir for obvious reasons and Cas because she honestly didn’t know where he was. Even if she did, he was too close to Vlad and it was hardly fair to entangle him as well. Instead, Seraphina struck out on her own and left the packlands for the first time since she had arrived. There had never been a reason for her to leave before, but now she needed a new environment. Where the air was clear of all the drama that surrounded her.

It was almost strange for the princess to be alone. She spent most of her time with the twins, especially Vlad, these days, but again, that wasn’t in the cards at the moment. Sera felt lost without the two of them to talk to. Most other vargs had someone, a parent or sibling, but Sera? Sera had no one. Her parents were the root of the problem and her sister… well, who knew where Dante was? The ess had promised to return for Seraphina, and yet she had not. Maybe it was for the best. After all, how else would Sera have been able to spend so much time with Vladimir. Of course, had Dante taken her then the current mess she was in would be far easier to deal with. The firebird held nothing against her sister though. She loved Dante too much for that and she always would. Though her sister hadn’t been all that present in her life, she was still Sera’s idol. Seraphina wanted be just like her. Dante was so poised and queenly. And she always seemed to be in control, something Sera sorely lacked right now.

Her wandering brought the princess to the lake, reminding her of when she and Vladimir had watched the sun rise from it and then splashed about it the water. A time so long ago and yet not at all. There was no sun rise today, only gray clouds dimly illuminated in the afternoon light, and there was no company to splash about in the water with. Fall had truly set in and dried, brown leaves floated on the water, joining the waterlogged ones. Sera growled in frustration and swiped at the water in front her, sending a spray of crystalline drops out. The firebird was usually quite good at holding her composure, but she was in no mood for that right now. With a sigh, Seraphia flopped to the ground, watching the water as it stilled. Perhaps her life could go from it’s turbulence to the calmness of water as well.
