The president of the South American Confederation of Karate, Julio Escudero, said that he "welcomed" the municipal coliseum of Tarata, where this discipline will be developed.
However, the Basque ball holder, Máximo Picallo, was worried because they have not started with the construction of the stage, in the face of the South American Games Cochabamba 2018.
During the inspections that were carried out, Escudero made a tour of the Tarata Coliseum, where he was able to evaluate the progress of the work. He indicated that "it is on the right track", but there is no need to equip the changing rooms, dressing rooms and bathrooms, among other sectors.
"The stage has the conditions to house our discipline. We're leaving quiet after working these days. We made some recommendations and the main one is that there is no sector for the warming, "said Escudero.
Also, the manager of the technical area of karate Codesur, Eddy Beltrán, said that this scenario has the necessary conditions to host such discipline and will comply with the recommendations that were made in the inspection.
"The coliseum is at 60 percent ready. In a following visit I hope to see it concluded, "said Escudero.
The president of the Basque pelota confederation, Máximo Picallo, saw the project in final design to build the coliseum for the discipline, to be located in the area of Coña Coña.
However, he indicated that as long as the work does not start, they will remain "worried and worried."
"For the moment we are going with the word that gave us the organizers. Hopefully they will meet construction deadlines. They are now finishing the project to final design and said they will start over the next two months. "
The manager added that they will send to the architects of their Confederation so that they can review the project and not have "imponderables", once the construction begins.
"It is necessary to take into account that the stage to be constructed has to be homologated by the Confederation. We will send architects so that a coordinated and adequate work can be carried out with the organizers ".
Picallo also said he will make another visit, in three months, to evaluate the progress on the stage.
"It is possible that the ratchet mode is not completed for the Games. We will request a meeting with Mayor José María Leyes, to discuss the issue, because the municipality assumes the construction of such a sports arena, "said César Bolívar , president of the Bolivia Federation of Pelota Fronton.
This discipline is almost similar to the pediment, but has a variety of modalities in its practice: short pediment of 30 and 36 meters, length of 54 meters or jai alai and ratchet.
"They have different characteristics in their game," culminated Bolivar.
