Beach Boys Britain
Re(4): Who's the 'collector' in the band

Hey Robert--

Sunny in Sweden? During this time of year? What??

I'm sure each of the Beach Boys has some stuff from the past that they've kept. I always got the impression that sometimes the members don't think to "save a copy". There's a story I heard years ago from someone who said they offered Brian Wilson a copy of the "Humpty Dumpty" BOB AND SHERI single when he met Brian in the mid-1970s. The record is quite rare. Still, Brian just looked at it and shrugged, and didn't seem to care!! I suppose it just isn't too important, and as an artist, you're just looking ahead, and not too concerned on a certain level with something you'd done in the past.

I suppose as fans and collectors, we look at things differently. Most know how much I love collecting Beach Boys 45s from around the world. But the average person doesn't care about my collection. Only the knucklehead anoraks like myself appreciate it!!
