She could tell maybe she had hurt Ceres’ feelings by not reacting excitedly to see her. Or right away to her information. It was important to Zelda, it was good information but she didn’t want to let the more important thing to her go by the wayside. The fact that Aranck had actually, apparently, killed Moteuh on just the belief she was a spy caused her chest to tighten. She almost wondered if Orifel had scent Ceres here to drag her home as well as pass the information, but if they didn’t know what happened perhaps it never crossed her brother-in-law’s mind. Regardless Zelda was going to press on, especially as the young girl replied asking what happened to Moteuh.
It wasn’t like Zelda was surprised, but it more spoke to Aranck, that he hadn’t truly thought she was a spy. If he had thought that surely he would have told all his members of the good thing he had done. She took a deep breath, she didn’t want to scare Ceres, but maybe if she did she would come home to where it was safe. ”He killed her for crossing into his pack.” She stated quietly. ”He claimed she was a Taviora spy.” Zelda let those words hang in the air, ”He was lying to us, I know he didn’t think anything about when he killed her. That was his ‘justification’ for doing it though. So please, understand I am worried.” She says to the girl imploringly. She could tell Ceres was proud of herself and the work she did. Especially as she perked up at her praise but it didn’t mean Zelda wanted her to keep putting herself in danger.
What was more was she said she enjoyed the challenge, Zelda remained silent as she explained that her mother had taught her, that even if Orifel told her off she would have done it anyway. She frowned slightly at that, but she knew a stubborn boy by the name of Tepiltzin who was just as persistent in whatever it was he did. There was no stopping them once they had their might set unless you tied them down screaming. Zelda knew well enough that even the threat of being killed likely wasn’t going to deter her. Plus Orifel was with her he wouldn’t let anything happen to her if he could help it. Zelda knew all too well the feeling of wanting to do something, anything, to help too. That was how she ended up as the alpha of Taviora in the first place.
”I understand.” She replied giving a smile that showed she did, ”I just want you to keep being careful, don’t wander too far from Orifel so that he can protect you if it comes down to it. I… Idon’t know what I would do if you got hurt too. I don’t know how I would tell your mother that-” Zelda shook her head then cutting herself off. Ceres wasn’t going to change her mind no matter what she said right. ”I know someone who really can use this information. This will really help us bring Aranck down, he’s a horrible wolf, more horrible than we even could have imagined when you first went. You’re work is very important, please tell us if you learn anything else that could help put Iromar back into the light.”
