Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

MUTE - AMUTAQ & ZETERI - LEVI'S SOUL- DEKU OF TAVIORA

Perhaps it was best that way that her soul was not healed. Perhaps it never would be. With Levi gone she guessed she was free to choose her own fate if she wanted, but the if she wanted was the part she wasn’t sure she would get over. Every moment she communicated with Dexter though she remembered she had a friend, and that things could get better. They would get better. He felt bad for her, wished to help her feel better and it was working. Having an old friend to talk to was becoming the string that was mending her soul. It had been a long time though since she felt happy or anything akin to hope or normality though and she hoped with Dexter back he was a good omen that maybe Levi would come back, or at least maybe she would learn she would be okay without him.

Tuari wanted a lot of things that most didn’t think of. However she also wanted to help others reach what they wanted. It was partially the reason she never tried to become the lead hunter. She thought she could make it work, but she rather be there to help whoever became it. She didn’t crave power she wanted the simple things. Friends, perhaps someday pups of her own. It might be boring but it was what she wanted a family and friends who could depend on her to help them do what they wanted. Of course she hadn’t thought of a family since Levi left, before no one lit a candle to what he made her feel. Now he only left her feeling cold and alone and she had felt like that for a long time now. Until today at least.

IT had been the first time she could put it aside. Though why she felt pleased that Dexter hadn’t yet achieved what she had she didn’t know. She was ashamed of herself for letting that little bit of negative emotion hit her and what was worse he certainly noticed her guilt. It wasn’t like she was hiding it well. She shook her head fervently a look of slight horror on her face that he would think he said something wrong. “Never!” She mouthed quickly a little gasp of air shooting from her voiceless maw. She was more ashamed knowing that he thought he had said something bad, worse that she couldn’t tell him that she wanted him to be happy too without the debacle of her muteness getting in the way. She wanted to express it that he needed someone too, if he wanted, but by his choice of words it seemed like he did but didn’t find anyone yet.

She felt a little bad though when she pressured him, especially when it was clear why. She wanted to know though, she wanted him to be confident in her that if it was a secret she wouldn’t tell. It was hard for her of course, but she wouldn’t even if maybe she should have. Of course the only one she could hold near perfect conversation like most wolves did was her deaf brother Jinan. There was no reason to tell him what Dexter did though, it wasn’t his business and it wasn’t her business either. It didn’t change how she felt about him though. He killed killers. It was like he was the hunter of hunters. It made him, to her, sound noble and brave. Her face looked in surprise at first but then understanding crossed her face. She smiled at him feeling so happy that he trusted her with this secret. It seemed though as if she understood him on a deeper level now.

”You help others. That is good.” She mouths simpy still offering him a calm smile. Wolves like Tobias… were horrifying she remembered when they came here, came attacking the wolves. The wolfess who hurt Levi before she vanished was one of them too. It always left a bitter taste in Tuari’s mouth that she was unpunished for how she had hurt him… Knowing someone like Dexter was out there, to Tuari at least, was good. He didn’t hurt the innocent, he hurt the bad and there was nothing to be shamed in that.

Still while she was distracted for a moment, she continued looking for her ideal starter tree. Low branches that were pretty thick. After you got on the first branch the rest got easier, it was just getting up was the hard part and balancing. That would take his own individual skills and practice, but now knowing his hidden work she knew for sure that he should know this. Prey animals didn’t think to look in trees for wolves, why would other wolves? It was something she hoped he could use to keep him safe now, help him grow and make sure he always came back. That was probably her biggest concern. Not the fact that he killed the killers but that they could also kill him. It worried her greatly to know that, but she knew he wasn’t going to stop something that only was confirmed when he said he didn’t really have any good stories.

She paused for a moment in her search looking at him in his own green eyes as he expressed that what he did wasn’t pretty, good or anything thing his family would be happy about. She knew the last alphas well enough to know for sure that he was probably right… They probably wouldn’t think it was all that good, and she was sure it wasn’t pretty. Heroic? She would argue it was. Tuari was sad though that he was ashamed of what he was. Her golden tipped ears fell back, a frown etching into her face again and a look of sympathy as well as worry going into her features. The mute girl could see him looking so sad, almost hurt.

She moved forward a bit tentatively not sure if he would accept the gesture, or touch she wanted to give. Placing her black forehead to the side of his neck feeling cold and warm at the same time. She felt bad for him. He was conflicted in what he did, it was like he wanted to stop but because of why he was doing it wasn’t letting him. Like how she needed to know there was still good in the world perhaps it would help that he could share his secret and know he wasn’t a monster that he was still cared for even if it was by some defective little mute girl.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
