Summer's heat had waned, and with the change of seasons the annual shift of colors began to sweep across Moladion. From the heights of Spirane's mountains to the lowest running beaches along the shores of Glorall, a gradient of hues from rich reddish-brown that indicated a leaf was clinging to a branch with its last strength to the still somehow vibrant greens of bushes that had not yet begun their spiral into death. It was surely a beautiful sight to behold if one stopped to look around at it, but my intentions today were not to serve as a stand-in Greenseer for the pack or even Moladion. Rather, today had brought me out scouting the lands.
Sidestepping around a single fallen leaf - one which would certainly crunch beneath my paw if I were to tread upon it - I continued on my way around Ruieze Lake. I'd come around the northern end of the valley for once, straying closer to Asteraia than I'd ever dared do in the past. At some point I knew we would need to approach them, meet with Halcyon and test the waters in terms of interactions between our packs. Mother had told me that she had once held an alliance with Iblis and Rhae - his parents - which felt promising. A smirk pulled at one corner of my lips - perhaps once Vortigern became Warden it would give us a reason to make another trip together, just the two of us.
For now, however, without a proper Vanguard to bring information to Daenerys, I was happy to fill the roll on a temporary basis. It was something I had considered before deciding to work towards becoming my mother's heir, and I enjoyed venturing out and learning new things that might help the pack, or meeting new wolves. And I very likely would have completely missed out on meeting one particular new wolf if it hadn't been for his lamentations about something called 'wine,' which attracted my attention. I glanced around, at first unsure where the voice had come from, until I noticed a particularly small wolf laying at the edge of the lake. My curiosity was immediately piqued.
