Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

She hated that she didn’t want to wander far from the mountains. She found herself gazing up at it, thinking of her mother near daily of her heartache and loss, wondering if she too would slip away. It seemed to be the fate of those who were imprinted closely. While her parents were never mates they were closer than most understood. They were near opposites in many ways, her mother emotional loving, her father critical thinking and lacking anything remotely close to emotion. Not that she thought he lacked it he just didn’t show it well. Regardless Panik took a lot after her mother in ways. She was probably a close combination of both, she was very intelligent, but also very emotional, sometimes this left her in a spinning mess in her mind trying to reason everything out… just like now as she stared at the mountain wondering what she should do next. Thankfully she didn’t have to ponder very long.

She heard him before she spotted him. At her location tucked at the base of a tree the tiny girl was pretty unremarkable or really noticeable. She poked her head over the roots spying the larger black male making a beeline right for the bank. Fairly free loving and trusting of all things not herbaceous plants, Panik was fairly quick to walk up to others on sight and not quick to judge either. She was quick, able to escape any hulking jerk if she had too. Thankfully most of her life experiences with other wolves had been pleasant. She knew there were cannibals out there and wolves who were less than nice but thus far only plants have done her any harm.

”Hey there wanderer!” she called to him bouncing up from between the roots, noticing him looking towards the mountains and having gone back for a drink she wondered if he had business there. His scent certainly told her otherwise, there was a certain smell that not native wolves seemed to have, but the little wolf didn’t mind that at all! Cori was from somewhere else too! And she had been wandering for ages before coming back home. It was good to see wolves from the outside lands.

”I’m Panik! What’cha doing out here? Save the obvious.” She asked lightly, staying several paces away just in case he was a not so nice guy but not so far that it was awkward. Her brown tail waved, almost eerie black and green eyes setting on his bright emerald. She wondered if yet again she would be meeting another friend here at the riverside but only time could tell.
