When solid ground grows soft with emerald moss and rivulets of black mud, and coffee-colored water pours slowly around the trunks of densely carpeted trees, this marks the beginning of Laod Mor: the swamp of Blossom Forest. Time itself seems to slow to a soporific crawl . . . the humid jungle air grows stagnant, thick with the scent of rich flooded earth and an abundance of green things that can be found nowhere else—except perhaps Caidir Olc. In some areas of the swamp, water rises so high the only way to cross it is to crawl across fallen logs or massive roots arching from their liquid beds; in other places a wolf might wade easily through the mire—or find a fortunate stretch of mostly dry earth. Pieces of the great river, Glaesfaet Sceawere, also slice through from time to time: small falls that feed into surprisingly clear pools, only to terminate into tar-like pits. Of course, Laod Mor’s beauty shines brightest at night. Here, fireflies gather at all times of the year . . . suffusing the shadowy place with millions of twinkling lights.

Those looking to hunt here of course find a myriad of water prey, including caiman, turtles, fish, crayfish, otters, and toads.

I Am The Ocean, I Am The Sea

She sat there staring down at the ugly mess she was. Her self hatred pulling her to end it all, but all she saw when she closed her eyes even to blink was Silas saving her from her attempt as a pup to drown herself. I fear I'm too far gone . . . She thought to herself as her tears filled her eyes and blurred her vision. She felt a presence coming towards her, and she could only hope that it was someone she had been longing to see or someone who was psychotic enough to want to kill her. But instead she found herself in the presence of another fae, who she did not know. A comforting type as she nudged her head and gently licked her ear.

Pandora looked to the fae, her eyes still teary, but she listened to the faes words. "I don't know why you're upset or what is going on in your life but the pieces will fall together." The cracked smiled girl gave out a small scoff and shook her head, looking back to the water. "No, there are no more pieces left to fall together. Just rubble . . ." She looked to the sky, another tear trickling down her cheek. "I've lost everything. I've lost everyone I have ever cared for. They abandoned me or they died, some even both. My father left me to follow some girl to her home with none of my brothers and sisters. My adopted father was alpha of Moondown. He saved me when I tried to drown myself. He too left me. My siblings, I only know of one who's living." She spoke, her voice shakey.

She looked to the fae. "My mother was the worst. She didn't want us and left the minute she could. She named us horrid names. My birth name was Disaster . . ." She sighed and closed her eyes. "It never ends. It never gets better. There is a hell, and I've seen it. I'm living it."

"Are you saying you can save me?"
