Beltran raised his head suddenly from his drink. The cool water dribbled down his chin due to the quick motion as he whipped his head around. The unexpected voice was... unexpected. The primarily black brute mentally berated his own redundant thought as his green eyes locked on Panik. Another female? Not that it was entirely relevant to any situation he found himself in. This was a new land for him. Who knew, maybe the population was majority female. He inclined his head in return of her greeting. No need to waste breath on similar words. More redundancy, and that was merely a waste of energy.
The wolf frowned slightly for a brief second during her question, but it dissipated quickly. /Save the obvious,/ she said. That was a small margin of relief since it meant some semblance of observation skills and not pointing out the painfully obvious. "Beltran," the dark coated male offered for his name in response to hers. Panik... seemed an odd choice for a name, but it was not his place to judge. The brute's own was for a bird after all. His gaze drifted away from the wolfess for a second, drifting towards the mountains again.
"Mostly getting a lay of the land," Beltran stated, his gruff voice not offering much else. His emerald gaze went back to Panik as he spoke. He really wasn't much of a conversationalist, finding witty banter or senseless babble a waste of time and energy. Even for having lived life in a pack, he was solitary even then, doing what was needed of him, and then left to his own devices. As a result, the male didn't make friends readily or easily. Some even thought him slow, or even stupid, but neither was the case. He had simply been raised to do what was necessary, and anything more was either useless or a waste of energy.
