More Jai-alai "frontons'" on the way?

A new court ruling by the lst District Court of Appeals this week may be cleaning the way for at least a half dozen more jai-alai frontons to open in Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Already, Florida City is getting ready to open from a loophole in the law and obtaining summer jai-alai permits. Magic City Casino, owned by West Flagler Associates won a major court case this week. The plans call for the poker room (that comes with the jai-alai operation) to open in downtown Miami.

This may explain why the company making these portable jai-alai courts is supposedly building 5 of the $200,000 hard plastic (not Fiberglas as originally reported here) ones. The courts can be set up in about 4 days and come delivered on a flatbed.
