Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Arturio

Arturio could not help but keep his smile as he gently released his catch back into the water after the young female investigated it. His face was certainly sopping now, but he didn't mind. The while male's tail waved at her enthusiasm. "Not too much movement though, you'll scare them all away," he advised as she went to make her own attempt. She definitely did better than the first time. He could only shake his head at her statement of him being 'so cool', as she put it. Art was not, at least in his opinion, cool. He simply... was himself. In the end, the head shake turned to a shrug as she mentioned using fish as something different to eat. The white giant didn't care for them, but in a pinch, it would serve though it took several fish to fill him up.

A light hearted chuckle escaped Art as she made her 2nd attempt. From what he could tell, Azariah was definitely enthusiastic. Her complaint about this being hard made the brute shake his head a bit, but with a smile. "It's only hard if you make it hard, he said, much like he would have his now grown children. "The first thing is to watch the water, try not to disturb it too much," he explained, "If there's too much movement, you either scare the fish or you can't see them."

"Now, water reflects things differently, and the light passes through it at an angle," Art continued his explanation, "When you see one you want, you have to grab just in front of where you see the fish." The male gestured with a paw for her to try again. He hoped she would be successful this time. Third time's the charm, after all. Fishing was definitely teachable, as long as one had the patience for it.
