Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

I am Magnolia.
The cold of winter brought uncertainty to the surface for hormones within her body betrayed her and yearned for companionship. And yet it wasn't the hormones she was used to. Instead of feeling frilly and vulnerable as she thought she should, instead there was a strength and pride to it, like she needed to curl her tail more and arch her neck. She felt out of place with this behavior, not girlish at all, but the others assured it was going to be like that every winter season. Guess she just had to get used to it. She wondered what had happened to Matthias. The male seemed nice enough and she often thought about him. Bandit even teased her about having a crush on the older male but she was sure that couldn't be it. Meanwhile Orb yearned to be around Elowen and Diesel spent his time day dreaming and eyeing females as they walked by.
Kyra and her seemed to be the only ones not touched by this mysterious bug. Even Bandit wanted to whistle and carry on when certain females were in the vicinity. It was truly embarassing and she often found herself ducking her head and muttering apologies for the behavior as she ran away as fast as she could. Kyra would just giggle and talk about the silly boys but Mags felt the ugly creature Envy coiling in her chest. She had never had a boy look at her like that or whistle at her. She probably never would either. The thoughts would make her sad and soon enough, just this whispering reflection on it brought a wetness to her cheek even as she stared into the river's surface. She sniffed and stared at her reflection, at the wolf that looked nothing like her staring back. Why couldn't she be normal?
She never would be. She dashed the image away with her paw and sniffed again. Then she heard the splashing and her head snapped around, a gasp rising in her throat, fearing the worst like always. Her eyes squinted at the brightly colored female who eyed her in recognition for a moment before familiarity tugged at her mind. Oh! It was the female she was thinking about earlier! She didn't seem to be in too fond a mood though, growls and glares repeating in her demeanor as she got closer and closer. Mags stiffened instinctively and drew herself closer to the ground, making herself a smaller target in case the wolf was hoping to bully her. Her ears flattened in submission as her back legs started trembling and her eyes were big saucers as they looked up at the female.
One ear flicked forward to hear her voice as she asked a question and her lips formed a scowl in thought.
"I guess it j-just doesn't feel l-like talking to m-myself cause they're all d-d-different wolves to m-me."
Her stuttering grew worse with the wolf's savage stare upon her. Her trembling only escalated the longer it was targetting her.
