Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

She doesn’t realize her words could have been hurtful, but perhaps it was still true to some extent. They were strange. Being a lone wolf with no goals other than to be free and do as they please. It was odd, perhaps even more so for her than him. At least with Cori it seemed that he was brought up being such a free wanderer. Panik though was brought up in a pack, by a pack by pack loving parents. She never knew her father or mother not to be pack wolves, even before the meteor fall. Her grandfather was even an alpha for a while, but also never felt the need to align himself with anyone place until it benefitted him or his family. Whatever family at the time that would be, be it her grandmother or one of his many other lady friends he had throughout his rather long life. If that was the case was it simply that a pack had not offered her anything great enough to stay for? Protection wasn’t enough, nor ease of finding food. What would be then? Perhaps nothing would be, ever, but she shouldn’t say that either, someday, perhaps if she had pups of her own that would cause her to maybe go to a pack. So far though that wasn’t in the cards for her.

”It’s okay to be different! I think it makes us more interesting anyway.” She says grinning as he giggles. She didn’t know he was lying about being invited to many packs, honestly she never been invited anywhere but Spirane, but that was her birth home so being wanted back there was normal if not expected. She knew one thing was for sure, a little time out here and running into a few pack wolves she would sure both her and Coriander would invited everywhere.

Though the conversation switched to their adventure and she only nodded vigorously as Cori just seemed to beam with such effulgence it wasn’t like she would ever be able to tell him no anyway! ”Maybe we should just bunk down for the night.” She says instead, night had been unsafe, and Panik wasn’t about to be some big ole mean kitty’s snack, or whatever else is out there. ”Sleep over?” She says giggling happily, ”I found a coyote den! We can both fit in that just fine!” She says dancing on her golden toes lightly, brown tail wagging above her back looking eager. ”Then we can go to the grotto bright and early in the morning! Then later that day make our way to the valley!” She says still smiling and wriggling though she pauses when he says something, his light silver-blue eyes meeting her dark black and emerald.

”You’re really cool too, Cori. I am happy I found someone like me out here.” She was truthful and happy but now she just wanted to make sure they could go on the adventure he desired and not get popped into some big predators mouth like candy. She was still reasonable, perhaps she could guide him into being safe. After all she figured he maybe didn’t know and dumb luck could only get him so far.
