Her scent permeates the area so thickly it’s nearly overwhelming to him, but not in a bad way. He felt himself breathing in her perfume for a moment, the truly defining thing to him of her. His black world was navigated by hearing, smell and touch, though Haziel, even since he was a child, wasn’t one to like being touched. Perhaps it was his blindness that made him that way. Bumping into things with hypersensitive senses was not exactly a pleasant experience. However, the one time they were close, when she touched him he didn’t mind at all. He knew the bond made her different to him, but he wasn’t sure in what ways. He knew he cared about her, but he thought love long ago had been zapped from him at the knowledge that his own family disliked him for his ‘shortcoming’. Solara seemed to find the error in her ways, but he didn’t think Heyel and perhaps even Achilles ever saw past his inability to see. He knew his parents cared for them, but news reached him they both were gone…
He hadn’t gone to the funeral, but he didn’t feel it mattered, he grieved his own way, but now he was here and those thoughts were pushed from his mind as he was given his answer that she had time to speak with him. Haziel as a bit unsure himself, his feelings and emotions were always held at arms length from others. It was easier to deal with things the less involved he was, easier to not get hurt. Maybe that was why he didn’t seek her out a lot, he was afraid to let anyone in close enough to knife him in the back. Nahal had been as close as he let anyone in, but she was gone, been gone for a while and it was hard to forget that with anyone.
”You seem well. What have you been doing lately?” Small talk… he didn’t like it he was one that usually liked to get right to the point and leave, but it seemed rude to do so with her. Even Solara he dug himself in and got right to everything he wanted to say before moving along. She was proof that wolves could change, but he was getting older, set in his ways. Still he didn’t want to distance himself from her. As much as he missed the rolling plains of Asteraia he thought he would miss being close to her more.
