Even if I am obviously so blatantly foolish at times, I could tell he is a bit uncomfortable with my scolding in the way he looks away. All it does it make my face glow with more of an 'I told you so' sort of look. He knows better than to worry me, having been there first hand when I had crumbled and shattered. He had offered to slay Aranck for me and to save Lazarus and while I hadn't heard any stories about HIM completing those tasks, that didn't mean I wasn't still worried for him. It was done now - Aranck was dead and Lazarus was back.
Now that he had showed up, all was well in the world!
His bouts of quiet reflection never bothered me. Elohim was a wolf of few words where I was a wolf of many, often bursting over in a flood of them. He was, after all, my Lord Chancellor in life and I was the Empress. I think we were both suited to our roles. He questions me and I grin rakishly at him, all teeth and wiles and sharp edges. "Naturally," I answer haughtily, flicking my tail and raising my head magnanimously. "But an Empress has to make her subjects think it is their idea."
Not why I had did this, but hell, I could wing it right? A little white lie!
I give him a dirty, pouty look and slap a paw on the ground as I glare. "Hey, stop that now. You know I don't know what you are saying!" But I reminded myself it was time to have him teach me. Lots of wolves spoke Latin and it was my duty to understand everything. My expression clears into one of extreme mischief and purpose at his question. "I need you to go to every pack and measure how large it is in wolves and in land. I want to know who has the most, who is the biggest, and who is the strongest."
Which it SHOULD be Asteraia but it wasn't like Elohim would ever lie to make me happy and honestly, I wanted to know because I wondered if any of the other alphas had ever thought to do it. In a way, Elohim was completing a task that was at once harmless and also a wealth of information. A spy - a wolf among... oh wait, wolves.
