The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

SHATTER THE SKY CALLING HUNGRY LONERS

Do you guys have ANY idea how hard it is to drag a deer corpse through the snow? Wait, I'm not done. Through the snow out of a freaking pack and into the badlands. Okay, they aren't bad but I rather liked to call them that. Made them seen mysterious and dangerous. Except, they are. I knew that first hand, but I try to avoid that memory because I just leads me down desperate, dark pathes. Instead I focus on the HUMONGOUS deer that bruises my jaw as I growl and heave and pull. I am pretty much fully grown and pretty impressive, I might add, thanks to my mothers thick build and my fathers height, but even I know that one wolf struggles with such a load.

It all has a purpose, though. So I drag and pull through the drifts, cursing when it seems to catch on something hidden beneath the snow, until FINALLY I find myself near the grotto. Lots of wolves hole up in there for the winter. I know it, I can smell them, and besides, those that didn't could hear my echo from miles around as I climb boldly atop a snow-covered boulder with the deer at the base and throw my head up into a loud howl.

It sings for others to come visit me and I wait until I spy figures in the distance, curious, and then I fluff up my tail, scruff, and back so that I appear even larger. Not to mention very Empress-like, despite my title being merely Queen. I could be called whatever I wanted, remember. Rulers had that choice!

"Hey, come on over here," I shout to whoever I see. "You can get a free meal if you just listen to what I have to say!"

Because obviously bribery was the way to go about recruiting for a pack. Last time I stole a wolf he got all huffy and called me FAT - I was merely trying to help the miserable fellow. So I wanted to try a different tactic before I resorted to such standards again, despite how accomplished my mother had been at them, and I grin boldly at whoever appears. "Hungry? Its a bit lean out here on your own," I say nonchalantly while angling my head in a cocky manner, the deer directly beneath me. It wasn't warm anymore but it would satisfy.
