His remark causes her to chuckle. Brilliant teal blue eyes glitter dangerously in the ominous gray gloom of the day. Although the light flurries of snow were beginning to subside, above the dark gray clouds hung low with the promise of more to come. If anything her time here was going to tease her patience and to think before she acts. Not a bad exchange honestly but in this moment she resists the urge to bite back her own sarcastic reply and instead listens as he speaks again.
This time, his words bring a ring of laughter from her lips and a knowing shake of her head. A coy grin slides across her slim muzzle now as she lets her own smart quip breaks through his words. "Maybe so far.... but don't count on the word not flying from my lips if you decide to keep referring to me as lady." she states, her eyes flashing purposefully. While maybe many females he has run into around here rather enjoyed being referred to in such high regard, she was not one of them. No doubt he used the term of endearment to ensure his own occasional piece of ass, it wasn't working on her.
However, she gathers the information she can glean from his words without comment... at least without comment for the time being. Yes, she would have a word or two to share with this supposed "queen" when she met her... but for now, she had more pressing concerns.... like where to take shelter when the impending winter storm finally hit the rolling plains in full force. He winks at her again and once more the impish smile plays upon her charcoal lips. Yet a flicker of concern flashes through her eyes as he clears his throat, pain grabbing his attention for a moment. She lets her keen gaze travel to the wad of herb covered cobwebs that cling to his throat but despite the thick scent of drying herbs, she finds no lingering scent of rot or festering. Perhaps later she can convince him to tell her what happened; may even have something to do with his sarcasm and quick wit. He may have even pissed off the wrong wolf and finally one decided to permanently dismantle his voice box. A fail obviously and while an amusing thought, she decided that this was perhaps far from the truth. As cocky and sure of himself as the wounded and battle scared male was, there was still something about him that she respected. Call it a woman's intuition.
He wiggles his brow again in a purposeful manner and this time she cannot help but to feign a sigh of exasperation. Laughter tugs her blackened lips upward as she picks up her own prancing jog, allowing her cold limbs to stretch beneath her lithe form as the russet female follows after him with ease. She moves into place alongside him, bumping his tawny shoulder with her own as honey smoothed words ring from her lips, this time offering him her own self-assured wink. "And what makes you think I have to call him?" she teases, her own cream tipped tail wagging back and forth behind her in amusement. It was true she had never really found "finding" a male hard. As with most of the male gender regardless of species they tended to act like flies during breeding season, determined to offer whatever false promises ensure that it is their seed alone that continues to the next generation.
She lets his singing words ring into her flickering ears as she lets her brilliant teal blue eyes roam over the rolling hills as he lead her towards the ocean edge. In the distance she can hear gulls crying from somewhere down the beach ahead, no doubt doing their best to prepare for the coming winter flurries in the best way they knew possible. Beneath her, the sound of ice and snow crack beneath their pads, each step sending a cold reminder that it had been far to long since last she had curled up in a warm den of her own. Sure she had taken occasional solace in whatever den she found abandoned in the common lands, but there was nothing like having your own place... and one you didn't have to share with an entire pack.
She glances at him now, doing her best to keep her occasional looks fleeting in order to avoid catching his attention. She didn't think his cocky smirk could get any wider anyway. None the less her own impish grin widens; she wouldn't mind sharing a den with him... for warmth of course.
She stops for a moment now as finally they come to a rise that looked over the vast flat beach below. Unlike the beaches she had observed in the past, this one was not a sharp rocky outcropping where waves crashed angrily against the rocks below. Instead, the scene that lay before her was quite serene despite the low hanging clouds above. The saline winds whipped the thick mantle of her russet and cream coat as she let her teal eyes linger upon the gently lapping waves as they stretched up the pale colored sands. As reluctant as she was to admit it, especially considering it was Mugen's idea to come here, the sight was beautiful. She seats herself now, her shoulder brushing against his own as once more the smug grin settles upon her lips. "Okay I'll admit... it is a sight." she comments dryly, turning to let her searching eyes fix fully upon his hansom muzzle. A single dial cocking to the side as she continues on, "A little to open for my taste, but nothing a deep den cant fix." she states, her brushy tail thumping languidly against the cold, hard ground underfoot.
Now it was his turn. Teal eyes glitter as a single brow rises now, eyeing him with a sudden seriousness, a seductive grin upon her lips. "Tell me more about yourself Mugen. she beings, ushering away the more primal thoughts that linger within her mind. "I mean there must be more to you than simply following meekly after the tail of a queen isn't there?" she taunts playfully. "I mean clearly you don't have a mate to tie your balls in a knot but surely there are a number of females to keep you company that you wouldn't want to settle with keeping an eye on me the whole time right?"
