Were it not for the two dark ears atop her head the light girl almost blended in with the wintry backdrop of the world today. The clouds hung thick and low perhaps ominous of things to come as she moved gracefully across the hard pack sand of the inner pack lands, in her mouth a tiny skull. It belonged to a seagull, having been successful in her venture after she had escaped the prattling grasp of Blackthrone. She had cleaned it until the white bone almost shone in the muted light and now pleased with how perfect it had turned out she was determined to find a place to keep it. It had become a bit of a habit, collecting things especially bone that she could keep from the animals they ate.
How things worked and what they were made of was remarkably interesting to the lithe girl and she had begun to spend time as of late taking things apart just to see. Not in a macabre way, but more scientific in her approach. Which is why she was taking such great care to find a spot in the less traveled area of the pack, a shallow abandoned den that would keep her treasures out of the harsh winds that blew in off the ocean. Stooping low she gently placed the hollow bone as far back as possible atop a small mound of sand she crafted with her paw. Nodding her head in approval she scuttled backwards until she could stand once more and shook her coat for good measure.
The crunch of paw on dry grasses had her head turning quickly, ears falling back in displeasure that someone was already so near to her stash when she spied the dark form of her brother approaching. Her demeanor changed instantly as her mottled tail waved gently in greeting. For a moment she considered acting as though she too had just arrived to protect the secrecy of her treasures, but he was her brother after all and as long as he wasn’t too interested in them she thought her hiding place would be safe with him.
