The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Just Your Everyday Guardian Angel
trying to Save the World

He was still a bit sore from his fall, but things already seemed to be going better? At least he thought so. At the very least she wasn’t yelling this time at him and didn’t run away or otherwise act angry or upset. He thought she might have been because he followed her so he wanted to make sure, before she got the wrong idea, that he had come because he wanted to help her. Blurting out that he was only here to make sure she was okay and nothing more. He felt a bit anxious, but he knew what he was doing was the right thing to do, even if she didn’t exactly like him here. However based on her posture she didn’t seem super upset at the moment that was.

Her reply was unexpected. Her voice was gruff but not unkind even with the stern look she shot at him. Taking her word for it he lowered himself to his haunches, looking around the cave for a second before re-fixing his eyes upon her watching as she turned and walked back to the cave entrance. He didn’t have any clue to what she was doing until he spotted the dead hare gripped in her muzzle. That made sense, no reason to let a good meal for herself go cold. He was pretty sure it was going to be harder for her to get meals out here, least in comparison to being in a pack. Teza didn’t know much about loners, but he heard it could be rough out there. After all if Teza failed a hunt he still could probably get something from someone else who had a better day. Her on the other hand…

He shook the thought on his head watching her then as she dropped the hare and tore it in half, presenting him with some. She told him to eat it, then leave. ”Oh, no I couldn’t. It’s your food and I don’t need it, but thank you.” He nosed the bloody half of the creature back towards her. He was honestly surprised at her kind offer, but really he just couldn’t take her meal. ”Sorry.” He adds nervously at the end. He hoped he didn’t seem rude. He didn’t exactly want to leave, but he didn’t to argue either. He did get his answer after all, she was okay it seemed like so he guessed he shouldn’t worry about her anymore.

”I’ll still go though if that’s what you really want.” Part of him could tell that maybe she didn’t, after all she could have just said take this and leave versus eat it and leave. If she just wanted him to leave she didn’t have to be nice and offer anything at all. ”I mean we can talk about… things. Like your name. I never got it last time.” If that’s okay to ask. He added mentally, but really he did want her name at least. She knew his before he even knew she existed.
