This evening at 8:20, a Merlin flying west to east and calling, just over the rooftops. Probably the same bird that I first observed April 30 2015 and last year quite a few times. I think it may have been making a territorial assertion flight. Nice to see it back and I hope it's mate made it too.
Also an Accipiter at 4 P.M. Possibly a female Sharp Shinned. Last year, July 17 I saw a Merlin and some Blackbirds pursuing an Accipiter through the neighbourhood. Perhaps it is the same Accipiter, also a returning bird. Replies: There have been no replies.
