Masque did not notice the boy’s momentarily fallen face. She was used to others not being able to see the fairies she believed in so dearly, and often not believing her when she spoke of them. There had always been that passive sigh and the indulgent smile at her before they just rolled with her make-believe. It took years, but she came to the conclusion to prevent this from happening, she would just sweep other up in her own whirlwind so their mind did not have time to process what she was saying to them. This was no different! She raced up beside her new and breezed past him.
We have to find sticks! And furs! Anything that will keep them warm during the winter! Before she got too far she stopped for a second, spun, and beamed at him. I am Masque, by the way! Without another word she zipped around and continued their adventure! Every snow covered rock they came across she circled around, sniffing and digging at to find anything that could be of use to them. Frustrated by the lack of anything useful and snuffed up a pile of fresh snow dust before racing forward again. Her lilac eyes looked around for anything she could bring to her fairy friends. Her gaze caught on a sprig of winter berries on a low hanging branch of a tree. The young lady halted her movements and stared up at the fruits. Glancing back at the banded legged boy she cocked her head. Do you think you can reach those berries? I think they would like them! Possibly also some pine cones, if they could find those. But right here and now, she wanted to see if this tall leggy boy could fly!
