As Masque moved along the trails beside the river she could feel her own heartbeat start to quicken. There was a sense of excitement growing within her. A low rumble of water flowing over rocks called to her spirit. The idea of free falling, flying from the grounding that had held you all your life, to have that second suspended in mid air before racing back to become once again embraced by the world. The thought thrilled her, delighted her eyes when they gazed upon the natural wonder. To her surprise, the sight was even better than she had thought it would be.

It was the boy! The one who had stepped up to dance with her in Spirane! Lilac eyes lit up excitedly! He was here and she could talk to him again! She would be able to take him on adventures! Or at least learn his name! As soon as she saw him, she raced forward and barked happily up at him. Dancing on her toes beside the falls, she called up to him. She even jumped against the rock wall, paws scraping at the stones. She whined softly, not able to find a way up to the top of the falls.

Giving up, she circled under the ledges. Hey! I don’t know how to fly yet! I can’t get up there! She paced the wall, senses working to try to find a route up. This boy was different and she wanted to learn more about him. More importantly, he had been her friend and her dance partner! She wanted to know if he would be a brave adventurer with her, too.
