Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

i will be your demise

Cold yet brilliant gaze lingered upon the wolf before her. “They. Nothing. Only You. Strongest. For now.”Nothing was tangible as her mind slipped between the dark abysses she grew to know as a friend and a hunger insatiable more so now than it had ever been before. Death lingered closely as her guide and yet seemed more interested in turning back to the river. A silent warning of snarls begun as her paws turned towards a trot in an undesired turn back to the riverside. She questioned when she could meet often by silence until her eyes had fallen upon it as well. A wolf, a possession, a snack, or a fight? These things were never certain in a circumstance when it came to her explorations for she knew the goals she had but knew her end goals would be much grander, a driving force seeing her success as opposed to failure. A dangerous game but it only suited a dangerous creature who called death a friend.

Sekhmet had navigated this river many times in her youth but not its entirety and certainly not in winter. She had thick fur and but had no interest in making a crossing here. Not worth it for food but a possession perhaps? She pondered this question looking across the expanse in contemplation. Stones perhaps she could find the path across with stones. She moved anyways, slick and slightly jagged rocks not quite good enough for a path but perhaps enough to hold her out of the water? She was strong and her muscles knew this current well enough. It was worth it to try if she could get what she wanted from this wolf and if she couldn’t she would put the rest of her energy to the chase or fight.

Her shadowy figure leads the path almost a confirmation to her and she glared but followed death like her confident friend. Taking a calculated leap towards a rock penetrating the waters surface claws quickly scrambling to embrace it the fridge water snapping at her paws a gaze of displeasure fell across the surface. Her movements were slowed her paws slick on the rocks, injury from platforming was easier than growing sick from the icy water, perhaps fighting the current was worth it. Quickly the idea was removed from thought, a faulty outcome. It took longer than she had desired and more energy but she managed the crossing her paws cold and sore from the cold.

She sat tucking her limbs together tightly before wrapping her tail around them. “You Cross.” She huffed turning more to a hiss even if she was uncertain if there would be the next time. “Want?” She questioned, her cold opalescent eyes casting a cold gaze to the woman. The body wanted blood but the mind new the need of followers and so she was torn in an inner battle; to the prying eye it looked more as though she were in a deep thought, she wondered if people could see the darkness that cloaked her shattered soul or even death that stood at her side seething, writhing, and hungering for vengeance. Her revenge for all that was stolen and pleasure she could gain from ripping it away from others. Thought had become a friend, cleverness and ally, and death encouragement. Who was bold enough to stare into the darkness and call it a friend?
