Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Becoming a healer was a never ending job. To be fair, I wasn't technically a certified healer yet but that didn't stop me. Hadrian had taught me much and I soaked it up like a leaf in the sunshine. My spring stock was flourishing and I took ample time to scope out Glorall of its impending members. There were two new wolves who showed up one day swollen with pups. I was curious as to their story as I had spied the female missing an eye! And actually eye gone! I am fairly certain that didn't happen naturally. Usually all wolves are born with eyes but not all function. It is a great curiosity that consumes me but I am too shy to actually approach and broach the subject, despite my fascination. Still, there is something wary about the pair, as if they are violence contained with threatening postures. I suppose they may simply not want company - many loners had such airs about them. The pack life was a comfort in my opinion - I knew if I was hurt that those of Glorall would help me even without actually knowing me.

Still I frequented the area of her makeshift living quarters each day as spring began to stretch. She was bound to be birthing soon and I was ready and prepared to showcase my skills. I always missed birthes, usually showing up after the pups were deemed hale and whole. Yet on this day when I pass her area carrying my familiar bag of herbs I catch the scent of blood and I hear her pain. It comes out in waves and I whine because I am sensitive to such things. My heart aches with her but I don't approach until I hear the sounds of pups and only panting.

Then, and only then, do I edge closer and set down my bag. "Hello," I say sweetly to announce myself. "I'm Samia, a local healer. I've come to assist you if you would allow it." I sniff the air again, noting the stench of blood seems prevalent - but since I couldn't see in I wasn't sure if it was more than usual. "I've got herbs for pain and the like, ma'am," I say nervously. I wouldn't enter unless she bid it - I wasn't a fighter and a mother with cubs was the scariest of all.
