So the Guv will soon be sharing the stage at Hadleigh with Attila the Stockbroker. That reminds me of John Otway's surreal Bachman Turner Overdrive cover with helpful(?) simultaneous German translation by Attila.
And while we're on the subject of whimsical British artistes, does anybody remember Clive Pig and the Hopeful Chinamen (best name ever) from St. Albans? They almost had a hit single in '79 before the BBC objected to some lyrics, and they put out a few cassettes around the time when the Cleaners were getting started. Clive styles himself a storyteller nowadays and has several books out. Maybe the Hosepipe Band will work with him next - Ladies and Gentlemen, The Hosepipe Chinamen!
