A frail & weak looking Magic Mike released from hospital - shows up to track games Posted on May 16, 2017 at 10:00:59 PM by Jeff "Laca" Conway
A frail and weak looking Magic Mike Berry showed up at Puryear Park tonight after getting released from the hospital today. He had been in the hospital 5 days - ever since Thursday night when he experienced pains suddenly and never like before. With multiple hospital wrist bands on his arms, the dedicated NJAA statistician showed up during game 6 in tonight's performance with a laptop and started tracking the games like nothing ever happened - except for the fact he won't be using his cesta for awhile.
Suffering staff infection or groin abscesses that had to be cut open during two surgeries, the Magic Man is ready to return, but medication is asking for a 21 day "take it easy" recovery period.
We ask everyone to thank Mike for all he has done for the NJAA over the years and it was great to see Magic Mike back out at the place he dearly loves - playing jai-alai at Puryear Park - except he won't be in the lineup for awhile. Like not having Cal Ripkin in the lineup, no Mike and his incredible self-designed scoreboard was truly missing the past 3 performances. Replies: There have been no replies.
