Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

The lights were dim, the morning sun was beginning to breach over the skyline. It started with oranges, reds, then the pinks streaked across the sky. Blue sky was hidden for the time being, and though yes it was summer, it was early enough in the morning that the heat of the day was far from them. She was glad for that reason alone. Guinevere moved easily. She knew there were many Supercilious beings out there. She had yet to run across them, but daddy had spoken of them often. Those who believed because they were born of a blood that reigned as king or queen, that they were immune to the rest of the bad that went on within the world. That they were better than all of us. He taught me that it didn't matter who we were related too, as long as we loved one another, and respected them as much as possible. It made her wonder if he had respected momma, even though things had never worked out, and that things had gotten weird, when it came to light that my sister was really a half sibling, not sharing full blood.

Guinevere hadn’t seen her sister in ages. She wondered who she had become, how her life was going so far. She had not seen her sister since they were a year or so old. Then She had gone off with dad, only for him to leave entirely. She missed him more than words could express. Whether he was alive or not, that was the biggest question, and part of her didn't want to know. She didn't want to think about the possibility of not having a father in her life, even if he was absent. A sigh slipped from her lips as she sat in the middle of the field as the sun rose up higher in the sky. The colors of the sky began to change more, the blue began to bleed into the reds and pinks, changing it to a subtle purple hue.

She didn’t venture out much at night anymore, knowing the risks weren’t worth it. She did not really feel like having to fight a creature of the night. The girl with the near all black body stood out in the morning light. Her navy eyes catching the rays of the sun, highlighting the golden edge to her eyes. She sat in contented silence, for once.
