Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Tuari
I’ll Fight Until I am the last Arrow on the Battlefield

She hardly felt great, she knew already she would be slowed down. Swollen paws and queasiness aside she knew she would be not as good as she normally was with hunts, but she felt she could still help. She would let Dexter provide for her as much as he wanted, but not without help until she simply couldn’t move anymore or proved to be too much a liability that she couldn’t even hunt a rabbit without getting in the way. She hardly wanted to be a burden upon him though, she knew what he actually felt towards her, but part of her felt like he was holding himself back. After all even after saying what he said they still, well, ended up in this situation. She wasn’t hurting now, she felt some part of her understood what he might be going through. After all she was torn between imprint and heart, but Levi was gone, Dexter was here, he was the father of her children and was trying to take care of her and them. She knew he cared about her, maybe loved her, but he also cared for the other girl.

If Levi came back she knew she would feel the same, but she wasn’t sure that she would ever be more with him. She would love him if he returned, but she wasn’t sure if it would be romantic. It never was when he was around, more of a protective ferocity over one another. Perhaps it would stay that way if he returned, maybe he even would understand. Right now though she was caught up with the aztec male walking beside her, pleading with her again to stay behind, to think of the children.

She had, she weighed the chances of them, her, getting hurt, but she would be forced to do things without him would she not? She stopped as if to consider that, to ‘think’ on it for a moment then continued bouncing off. It wasn’t that she was careless, just confident. ”I won’t get in the way.” She mouthed slowly to him, but basically insuring him that she was going along anyway he like it or not.

And not certainly seemed to be the way he felt.

Her body rose and fell with the silent chuckles, before smiling and looking thoughtfully off into the distance. Thinking about that, if they got her hard-headed streak, not that their father wouldn’t at all contribute to that either. They would surely be fantastic, she knew that right away. Her mother always said she was a princess, she could do whatever she wanted if she put her mind to it. These children surely could go on and be something great. She only knew the stories of her grandfather, she knew much more of her grandmother, and she hoped even though she couldn’t speak that someday she could tell Dexter more tales of her family. Perhaps over food she would try to teach him of her family. No matter what though she knew they would have their paws full. With Tuari and Dexter’s energy, they were basically doomed before walking out of the gate.

She kept him on track though, finally he seemed to admit to defeat saying that it was fine if she went but if she got a single scratch on her she wouldn't be allowed to leave the den. She gave a firm nod to agree to his terms, before fully focusing herself in looking for the gang of turkeys she knew lived around here. It wasn’t that they were particularly a bold bunch, but they did stick together. Their young were grown though, they only had themselves to protect and often in these groups it simply meant everyone was out for themselves.

She nodded when he asked if she found anything and started her wobbly lope off towards a small clearing she figured they would be settling themselves into. She knew where all kinds of prey liked to hide themselves this time of year. Soon she found herself stopping suddenly as she saw the first birds. She didn’t see any gobblers, but she certainly saw plenty of hens about. She wasn’t out to get a huge bird though, just a nice meal that maybe she could share between herself and Dexter. Since he wanted to keep her so safe though she would let him pick and lead the way. She looked at him tilting her head before taking a few very slow steps back and waiting.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
