Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Myrhh
Male : Heart Given to None/Soul Seeped to Vasily : 4 years

He felt the rage that was not his own grow deep within him. The breaths he tried to gasp were stolen from him by his soul that walked outside of his body. Something had been taken from her, now from afar he was doing everything he could to keep her from drowning. With every second that passed he could feel it continue to grow and continue to well within him. Claws dug into the hard dirt of Diveen, and the man gritted his teeth against the onslaught. Before he could lash out at those around him he removed himself to find safety within the depths of his den. He did not have to see it, but he felt the stone dull eyes of his sister watching him.

In the shadowed darkness of his apothecary-like den he tried to calm them both from a distance. Soothing himself at least until he could separate from her emotions from his own. Slowly he started to feel himself instead of her, but still he kept away. With whatever happened between Iromar and Diveen, neither of them would have been safe or welcome within the boundaries of the other. He could feel her movement out of the moors and at once got to his paws to find her. Ever more confident in his steps, he passed by shadowed landmarks of his home and into the more unfamiliar territory of the common lands. Had he been on his own journey, he would have hesitated and been more careful in his movements, taking time to memorize his routes and the paths before him. This was different. Her silent needs called him forward and there was nothing that was going to stop him from finding his soul when she was bleeding so bad.

As he drew closer he could feel his heartbeat quicken. Whether she truly needed him or not, she was hurting and he was a healer. Nothing needed to point him the way, he simply found her. At first he was confused. He could feel the sadness radiating off her in waves, but he never would have thought he would hear her sobs. Myrhh’s heart ached for her as he stepped forward, a soft whine issuing from his muzzle to tell her he was there, to tell her he would always be there. Vasily…. His voice was soft, and soothing, a charm that was trained to ease even the most scared of patients. Vasily, I am here for you. He drew just close enough she would be able to feel him there, touch him if she needed, but far enough he could back up swiftly if she felt crowded.

He heard her sobs, and yearned to lick away her tears. The humanity she showed in this moment proved to him the real strengths that was within her. He was struck by this moment, the depth of her. Again the sight of her flashed through his mind, more beautiful than even before. More than the strong but harsh features of a fierce spirit, she now glittered and shined with a feeling and emotion deeper than anger. There was a stunning softness and vulnerability, making her stronger. He reached desperately for the image before it faded back into the shadows of his sights. He knew it was the young woman who laid before him. When his milky eyes rested on her, he knew what he would be seeing and sighed to himself, setting aside his wishes and dreams. She needed him now, she was what was important.
