[ooc] I wrote that the person is familiar, but that can be like a "saw you in passing once" familiar or someone she knows, whichever!! :) [/ooc]

Poppy wasn't exactly sure what had gone wrong to have her end up in Madrid, but she supposed there were worse things. She'd somehow timed her rather impromptu trip rather well, all things considered. It wasn't as if the sun festival happened every day! If only she'd managed to bring Zel along for the trip! Her daughter would be disappointed, no doubt, but if Poppy could find just the right souvenir, she'd probably forgive her pretty quickly, right?

Poppy paused at a stall, studying an assortment of hair clips. "What do you think, Penguin?" she asked her familiar, holding up a small blue butterfly and a cute pink bird. The Great Dane sniffed both obediently, then whined. "Yeah, alright, let's keep looking."

"Mystery gift?" Poppy offered with a small shrug, plucking up a wooden box decorated with suns up from a stand. Penguin sniffed, cocking his head to the side. "Eh, I can't resist. I'll take these this pink ribbon, the blue sparkly one, and one of these whatchamacallits."

Poppy plunked down her money, tossing the purchases into her Poppins Bag. At least she'd had it on her this time her Divinity decided to rewrite her travel plans. She'd just stopped to look at a bunch of brightly colored stuffed animals when she became aware that someone was looking at her. And not just casually. She shifted uncomfortably, looking for an escape route, but the person was already approaching. She peered down at a small, dark-skinned woman with massive eyes.

"You... you are..." she breathed. She reached out shakily, touching Poppy's face. Her hand settled on Poppy's arm, squeezing hard.

"You are creepin' me out," Poppy replied, gently but firmly untangling the woman's hand.

"It's her! It's really her!" she exclaimed.

Poppy wasn't really sure what was happening, but she decided escape was for the best. She dashed down an alley, trying to focus her energy on an escape route. BOOM!

Her groan of dismay was barely audible over the boom of thunder. She sent a quick apology to the festival patrons - and one to Mallos, while she was at it - before the pouring rain started. Poppy pulled herself under a nearby awning, hoping to have evaded her followers in the chaos her storm caused. It took her a moment to realize she wasn't alone. She glanced to her left, belatedly realizing she'd taken cover near someone familiar.

"Ummm... Nice weather..."
