there is no greater pain

Quinn did not know what the hell was going on to bring him here, and it was probably a good thing, too. Figuring it out would have been a bad idea, because he was apt to try and stick his nose into things he really ought not to. It was one of his flaws when it came to portals and other such things, but he was not aware of how he had gotten here, nor that he wasn't still in Shaman. It would only do more harm to know such a thing. Being oblivious was the better option here, but he felt pretty interested in what was going on around him, regardless.

A sun festival. There were stalls for food and market type items, and entertainers and arena events. It was curious, and Quinn simply walked along, looking at everything and debating on if he wanted to get something from this place or not. The Crow, his mechanical -- but realistic looking (aside from the metal wing tips) crow -- had landed on a box, something with a sun decoration on it, and the vendor eyed him. "If that bird messes on the box, you're buying it." The guy warned, having seen The Crow with Quinn and deciding the bird was his. Which it was.

Quinn gave a nod. "Here, I'll just buy it now, how much?" Was his even response, knowing full well that The Crow couldn't 'mess' on the wooden box if the thing wanted to. But he wasn't here to argue with the vendor, and simply handed over the amount asked for, and lifted the box with The Crow on it, tsking the mechanical critter for the hassle. e wondered what was even in the box, since it didn't have any actual label on it aside from the sun decoration, but The Crow looked to be content perched on the top for now.

At least the box hadn't been too expensive or anything. He hoped that it held something useful within it, but he wasn't going to be too hopeful about something in a box from a festival like this. He probably should have asked what was in it before he left with it, but that wasn't where his mind was at that moment. He walked along, looking at everything going on and trying to enjoy himself. He wished that Vhetiveer was here with him, but that wasn't the case right now, and Quinn accepted that. Sort of.

At the boom of thunder, Quinn glanced up at the sky and ducked under an awning as the rain started to come down. A frown curled over his lips as he wondered how long this was going to keep up, and idly noted that someone else was now under the awning. It was possible that he had seen her in passing what seemed like so long ago to him, but he wasn't sure. Her comment on the weather had him raising an eyebrow. "Well, it was, but shit happens." He responded with a small smirk. He had no idea that she'd started it, of course, though there was no knowing if he would have responded the same even if he had known it.
