FIRE BURNS WHERE IT FALLS

Keyik was receptive to Maslakhat’s influence and he knew that. She was still young and he suspected that she had very little idea of what she was in for. Not that he didn’t believe in her of course. The golden bay stallion had always admired her, and not just for her beauty. It was rare to meet someone who had such raw ambition, and like a gemstone fresh from the earth it needed to be refined and polished in order to shine to its full potential.

“If you want Atlantis, you either have to convince your neighbor over there to give it to you, or you have to take it by force,” he continued, his eyes bright with wisdom. Maslakhat had done his fair share of fighting—mostly for Valve—and he had varying degrees of success. He would fight for Keyik too, if she asked, even though if she did, the power she so desperately wanted would not be hers alone. Maslakhat would share in it.

“I would be happy to fight as your proxy, if you desire it,” he finished. He suspected Keyik would enjoy this idea. She was too delicate, too entitled to fight for what she wanted herself, and he believed that given the opportunity to have someone like Maslakhat fighting on her behalf, she would happily take it.
