Cuirass took a healthy dose of both parents when he was growing up. He admired his father's vampiric ways and the torture methods he used to get the blood. How he didn't just kill the wolves to take it. He enjoyed bleeding them slowly while they were still alive. That was his favorite method. He learned just how to do it so that he wouldn't waste a single drop and it could take days, sometimes even weeks. Near the end, the victim would start to lose consciousness from blood loss but he would sometimes give them a day or so of recovery to let their body do the healing process then go right back to it, keeping them like a blood bag of sorts.

But his mother was just as cunning and she liked to seduce her victims with her tongue before she killed them in the dead of night and took their hearts. He thought the heart was delicious just as any other cannibal but he believed nothing should be wasted so he ate the organs and even the muscle when he got hungry enough. His parents were both survivors in their right and could blend in when needed, seem normal. That was especially useful after doing a few too many egregious crimes in the heat of winter when they were showing off for each other. He took all these traits and learned them, honed them just right. He was on his own a lot once they turned one year old. Kronos kind of went his own way. He decided he didn't want to hunt old or weakened wolves. Their blood wasn't as rich and their meat wasn't as tender. He picked opponents to spar with and turned them into meals when he was in the right mood. Only the best would do.

She sounded bored with the idea of being alpha suddenly, changing her mind. Just like a woman, he thought to himself with a barely concealed roll of his eyes. Then she said it didn't sound fun and she'd rather be alone. She bristled a little when he told her she should have come to him, telling him she didn't need protection and he scowled, tilting his head at her.

"Your pride will only get you killed, Kattari. You pitted a whole pack against you this time. It has nothing to do with strength or weakness. They have numbers and as you say, you prefer to be alone. That doesn't set well with fate."

She seemed bitter with him and he wondered if it was because he stole her here. He was offering her free roam of the pack lands so he didn't think it was a bad deal, and he was offering sanctuary that she was being too stubborn to take him up on. She told him that Diveen was going to send assassins and wolves one by one but he knew better. Either they would learn from their mistakes or the whole royal family would team up on her. If Tobias taught the Diveen pack anything, it was that groups were always better than one on one. She at least told him she would need help with thieves but that was child play. He snorted.

"I've got that covered but it's you underestimating the pack that is my concern. Assassins may come but that will not be their only offense. Family members may come for revenge on their own but Diveen will act in force. They would be stupid not to. They learn from their past mistakes with Tobias."

He offered her a hunt, hoping that would settle her down some and maybe help her see the perks of this situation but instead she chose to insult him with the idea that he might choose weakened prey for them. His ears flicked back and his lips quirked as he shook his head with a tsk tsk sound in his throat.

"Dear sister, you don't know a damn thing about me if you believe I got to where I am in life by hunting the weak things of Moladian."
