A gasp escaped the maw of the hunkered down pup as the bigger fae, a fae bigger than he'd ever seen, noticed him and started making her way towards him. She was so much taller than him; so much bigger. The pup didn't really know what to do. Immediately, ears pressed against his head and tail curled tight between his legs as he shook from unwarranted fear. When she stopped and laid down, the shaking stopped; her speaking was sweet, her body language was non-threatening. She called herself Malina. It was pretty. She seemed nice. His body relaxed some, tail wagging a bit. I-I'm Salali; but y-you can als-so call me Squirre-el his words stuttered from his mouth; putting his paws out in front of him and scooting on his ventrum towards the fae just a little, his back legs laying out behind him.

The terrified pup wasn't very much closer but it was a start. Maybe he'd warm up to her? Who knew. His mother always scolded him for being scared but he couldn't help it, he just couldn't understand. Couldn't understand how the world worked, how wolves worked. Salalis mom never understood how a wolf from their bloodline could ever turn out like Salali. It upset him when she put him down, but it only drove him deeper into his fear. What if all wolves were like that? Mean and angry? This one certainly didn't seem like it in this moment. But who was to say that would stay like that?

Ears flat against his head again as he kept thinking about it. Malina as she called herself could turn on him at any minute. Salali lowered his head some, watching the fae with his different colored eyes. Watching to make sure he wouldn't have to run should it warrant it. And watching just to watch her body language. That was one thing he was good at; knowing body language among others. It was nice to have.
