She picked her way slowly across the field falling a bit farther and farther behind her father and siblings as they hurried ahead. Perfection could not be rushed however, and there was no way she was showing up to meet all of her family (apparently there were quite a few of them) with grass in her fur or dirt on her feet! So it took time for her to cross the distance from the forests of Taviora to where the family was gathering, especially when she had to leap over the standing mud puddles or lick the wispy fur on her shoulders when the wind would displace it. Often she would spend hours grooming her lusciously thick fur, making sure every silky strand laid just so and today she had been up for hours before her siblings doing just that.
It exasperated her parents to no end, Astrid often mumbling that she wasn’t sure where the girl got it from but anyone who knew her lineage could guess. While her brothers and sister were happy to play fight in the leaves that littered the floor outside their den, or splash in the streams she couldn’t understand why on earth they were so content to be so dirty. She went through great lengths to ensure her pristine white fur stayed that way, and you had better believe she would take all the time she needed.
Only when Zaphkiel’s tall, dark form started to disappear in the sea of grass did she pick up her pace some. Her puppy legs while short were already beginning to lengthen and when she finally broke through to the meadow where her family was quickly filling the space she practically pranced toward them with her small paws lifting high. She had done a final check of her coat making sure to remove every speck of dirt before trotting up to beside her father and sister. Waving her beautiful tail in the air she looked up with gemstone eyes as Skyrippa greets their aunt and uncles. Her eyes practically shine as the gorgeous white wolf that Cass would have known she was related to even without this gathering speaks, her silky ears pricking forward she steps in front of her father. “I’m Cassiopeia, who do I look like?” She cocks her head just so staring up at Celeste who despite looking tired was still the most beautiful wolf she had ever seen.
