QADIR
Qadir plodded along the pale beach of the Paradise, one eye trained on the wall of trees as they lessened and outcroppings of rocks suddenly peeked out from behind them. He didn't remember Keyik mentioning them. He turned his head to glance warily at the larger mountains and hills he had somehow missed when he first beached on this island. He was so caught up in the breathtaking view of ridges against the clear blue sky, he almost tripped over a large rock on the beach.

He snorted, and danced heavily (and certainly not gracefully) to the side. Rocks intruded onto the previously fine-grained beach he was traveling on. They came in all shapes and sizes, from smooth pebbles to ragged snarls of stone, all littered across the beach. The dark giant snorted exasperatedly and continued to pick his way around the rocks. Once or twice his eyesight failed him and he scraped his leg against a sharp rock, but luckily none drew blood. He simply huffed irritably and hoped the beach would even out again.

It did, slightly. The stones here were smoother and buried deeper into the sand. Qadir dared to look up from his hooves and examine this new territory, holding his breath at the view of more outstretching cliffs. Did Keyik claim this as her home too? "Keyik," he called out, eyes scanning the area to see if she had been watching and following him this whole time. But no pale mare stepped out to confirm his suspicions. He shook out his mane and lifted his head higher to examine the mountains again. The sun was warm on his back, and the ocean gently lapped behind him.

He could get used to this.
