Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

.because sometimes the sky explodes.

If Mana had been more her mother, she might have paid attention to the gentleness of Zelda and her gaze. Hell, she might have picked up on some tiny movement or lack thereof that pulled down her entire credibility but, perhaps to Zelda's favor, Mana was not her mother at all. Or at least, less so than she could have been. She understood that her mother had never had the blood for the assassins and thus, that meant Mana had even less of the right blood and probably less of the thoroughbred mindset - to Mana, anybody had the option. She did like a challenge though and part of her begrudged Zelda for making the meeting too...passive, if that were even possible.

Still, she kept her cool. Besides, they were playing on equal ground at this point, though Mana quietly assumed she had the upper paw: Zelda wanted something from her - or rather, her mother - and Mana did not particularly need for anything. It gave her a little power and though she wanted to momentarily revel in it, she remained still, passive, as poised as one could pretend to be.

Finally though, a small laugh broke her facade - when Zelda's face had hardened, Mana had finally seen what she had been wanting to see the whole time. That face spoke more of the woman than any of her words had. "Become an Angel, huh? Quite an outdated term if you ask me," and she had made the mistake of asking her mother that once and she had fast learned that yes, it was apparently an outdated term (she could still remember her mother's snorts of agitation at the idea), "but I accept the request nonetheless." She paused, flashing a grin. "If you'll take second-best, that is."

With that, she moved passed Zelda with a flick of her ear - follow, it said. She knew there were numerous of their...kind in Moladion, many who had taken up the name, and she had to wonder why her mother had been the one sought after. But that ship had long since sailed, her mother defending what pride she had with sending her instead. Though she had her suspicions Zelda would not turn down her acceptance, she still paused to look over her shoulder - maybe she was wrong. Maybe second-best wasn't so good, huh? "Lesson one: when we're together, you're a nobody just like me." A teasing smile and then, she moved again in order to lead Zelda onward, ever moving so that no other could catch wind of the pair of them.
