He saw the look on her face and it made a slight frown touch his maw. He didn’t mean to upset her in any way, but he knew that...he knew that he was not very good at interacting with others. He just had that feeling and knowledge he was not very good at it, and he felt his heart sink a bit knowing he may have failed his new found...friend? He hoped?
Yet she seemed to whimper in concern at his new found uh, butt decorations. They did not really hurt unless they got close to the skin, so he figured he would be okay for now, but then she offers to help him get them out. Well, it would be easier for her to reach, but is it okay for her to be so close to his butt? He froze for a moment as he contemplated this, mis-matched eyes blinking before he finally snapped out of it and nodded in agreement. She seemed to become a little more comfortable once he explained that his sister was Queen and that she would surely let his new friend stay if he wanted. Aster was protective, but she tended to let him do what he wants...mainly because he does not want for much.
With his tail wagging gently and a smile coming on his face, he begins to come closer, turning around so it would be easier for her to reach the stickers...and right when he was about to plop down, a snarl rippled through the air. Immediately he yelps, running forward and away from the pretty flower bush and his new friend. He turned his head after a few strides to see the snarling she-beast.
”AAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!” he screams at the top of his lungs, absolute terror in his voice like he saw hell coming to swallow him up. His eyes caught that the she-beast was not attacking his new friend...in fact his new friend seemed to speak words and showed concern on her face, but unfortunately...Lazarus was not a brave boy. The horror of his past echoed within him, the she-beast drawing out the fears that was trying so hard to battle. He was not able to battle them now. He was not strong enough, not brave enough, and his mind went immediately into flight mode if he wanted it or not.
”AHHH DON’T KILL ME!!!!” he yells as he continues to run, his muzzle facing forward and away from them again. His eyes were wide and his fur was standing on edge. He continued to run as if his life depended on it- and he was surprisingly fast for his stature, thus the magic of pure fear. He did not stick around to hear the she-beast speak. He did not stick around at all. As much as he wanted to make a new friend, to make sure she was okay, his drive to run was too strong. His legs pumped away over a grassy hill, and the boy had no intention of stopping until he found his sister, brother in law, or Undyne.
