You're probably correct, Jesus. But it doesn't have to be that way. My blog linked to articles in nothing but Espanol, Francais, and Euskara. Google Translate is pretty primitive and brutal, but it got me the information I needed. Only occasionally (especially for the remonte) was a translation unclear. And I learned cool expressions like "take the cat to the water", which, in Espanol, means "won the match." So if one is really interested in the sport, one can figure things out. Unfortunately, picking up the oral languages was much more difficult. I had a little background in French, and with the cognates, could pick up a bit of Spanish here and there. But the Basque. I learned "Yes", "Congratulations", "Thank you", "left wall", and how to count to 22.
In Spanish I learned to count to 22. In French to 50
Of course, participating on a discussion board would be another matter entirely.
