Passchendaele 100

Many of you will have seen the BBC television coverage yesterday and today commemorating the 100th anniversary of the start of the Third Battle of Ypres. I attach an article from the on-line version of today’s Daily Telegraph which mentions both the Northumberland Fusiliers and the Royal Fusiliers. The Regiment was represented today at the Tyne Cot commemoration by the Colonel of the Regiment and by two members of the 1st Fusiliers, Lance Corporal Lasssmore-Searson and Fusilier McLorie who both read extracts from letters and diaries from members of the Lancashire Fusiliers and Royal Fusiliers who served at Passchendaele. Highlights can be viewed through the BBC iPlayer. Both Lance Corporal Lasssmore-Searson and Fusilier McLorie are congratulated on their performance. They are a credit to the Regiment.
